Noatun & Streaming audio
Posted: February 25th, 2003 | Author: telcor | Filed under: Debian, KDE, Linux |Recently I became interested in Zina a little PHP based jukebox. It has some nice features. Probably I will delve into the code at some future point (it’s one of those ‘let’s stick the entire progam into one huge file’ scripts). Not too bad, I’ve been running it here at work to serve my music to my desktop. Less load on my desktop machine, and it doesn’t seem to bother the test server I have it on.
Anyway I’ve been using Noatun, the default music app for KDE, to listen to the music. Noatun is my favorite, mainly because it integrates nicely with the KDE desktop. Odd thing is, Noatun doesn’t display the song names from the stream. However XMMS does. Weird.
Specs:
- Debian Unstable
- KDE 3.1 (come on, get KDENetwork in Usntable!)
- XMMS 1.2.7
Must find time soon to investigate why this happens.
