The Great Disconnect: [preferred_tool] is better than [your_tool]

"enough!" of people complaining about MySQL. Especially when such people try to convince others that, since MySQL doesn’t fit their needs, obviously it fits nobody elses needs.
To such people I say, “Grow up!” You have prejudiced yourself about a tool, when MySQL is just that, a tool. So is Postgres, Oracle and any other piece of software. When filling your own particular needs use whatever suits you. When it comes time to fill the needs of others, listen to their needs and use what fits those needs. If it’s MySQL, use it. After all it is only a tool. However, don’t complain or denigrate others because the choice involved a tool you personally dislike. If you don’t know why the tool is used (the needs) you are in no position to speak.
